Can Sn0wbreeze Create A Storm

The dev team last week released pwnage tool for mac owners only, this enabled users to create custom firmware to jailbreak and restore their iphones. The down side of this jailbreak is that users have to be running either 3.0.0 or 3.0.1 firmware that is already jailbroken before they can update their iphones with jailbroken custom firmware, now for people who are running stock 3.1 firmware this means you will have to downgrade first which isnt an easy task. Although not an ideal jailbreak for many it also left us windows users in the dark, which has upset many people.

If you wish to try this jailbreak but are running a windows based pc, you could download custom firmware that other users have created but this also comes with risks, if you unlock your iphone as well as jailbreak, you could end up accidentally updating your baseband as well, this could prevent you from unlocking again. Or wait, it is rumoured that sn0wbreeze will be released by approx 12th October, this is a porting of pwnage tool over to windows so if your intent on trying custom firmware to jailbreak, at least its your own.

In short, if your running a windows based pc, and are currently using 3.0.0 or 3.0.1 jailbroken firmware, this is a great system, if your running 3.1 stock firmware, take my advice and wait for Geohots jailbreak or the dev teams next redsnow!!!
